AI Innovation Engineer, Google Cloud Overview

The AI Innovation Engineer role within Google Cloud focuses on leveraging cutting-edge machine learning and Generative AI technologies to enhance customer workflows, particularly in the capital markets finance sector. As part of the Global Solutions and Consumer AI team, you will work closely with clients to transform innovative concepts into practical solutions that drive efficiency in high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop autonomous workflows that utilize machine learning and Generative AI technologies, either as fully autonomous systems or in collaboration with human operators.
• Collaborate with client leads to identify significant AI use cases and translate these into detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), clearly defining Critical User Journeys (CUJs) and success metrics.
• Evaluate and integrate AI solutions with modern data architectures, including relational databases, data lake houses, and real-time streaming systems.
• Adopt a ‘production-first’ approach when building prototypes, ensuring they are ready for deployment.
• Implement basic Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform to maintain secure and reproducible environments.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate a smooth transition from Proof-of-Concept (POC) to engineering teams.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in software or data engineering.
• Proven experience in addressing real-world challenges using machine learning methodologies, including deep learning and reinforcement learning, as well as model identification and AI operations.
• Experience with Generative AI and agentic orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, or Vertex AI Agent Builder, along with vector databases.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, or Java.
• Familiarity with design patterns, testing frameworks, and API contract design.
