As a Staff Implementations Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Platform Operations & Compliance team, focusing on integrating our products with clients to deliver unique insights and value.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enhance distributed big-data pipelines that support Altana’s advanced network analysis, machine learning, data ingestion, and fusion functionalities.
- Drive the scalability of Altana’s technology to adapt to the changing needs of customers.
- Ensure platform reliability, manage costs, and oversee compliance with security reviews and accreditations.
- Act as the technical authority during client meetings, translating complex governmental requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
- Assess and suggest new tools, technologies, and best practices for the development, orchestration, and deployment of data pipelines.
About You
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or closely related fields.
- Proven expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining complex data models from diverse sources and schemas.
- Experience leading the entire lifecycle of data ingestion and standardization pipelines at scale.
- A commitment to sustainable software development, self-healing data workflows, and a strong understanding of data security and governance.
- Familiarity with deploying and integrating software solutions in client cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including managing services like EC2, S3, IAM, and Dockerized microservices.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding other engineers on complex data engineering projects.
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance or possess an active clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a history of effectively interacting with external customers and stakeholders.
