Software Engineering Intern Overview

This internship opportunity is designed for students who are in their penultimate or final year of study in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in the EMEA region. The internship will take place in the UK and requires full-time availability for a minimum of 13 weeks during the summer of 2027, starting in May, June, or July.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on a specific project that is crucial to Google’s objectives. Your role will involve collaborating with a diverse team, where you will design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions. You will also have the chance to engage in Site Reliability Engineering, focusing on the reliability and performance of critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and support a productive and innovative team including working with peers, managers, and teams.
• Develop scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to effectively solve problems.
• Apply knowledge gained in computer science courses to real-world problems.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field in the EMEA region.
• Experience working with data structures or algorithms during coursework, projects, research, internships, or practical experience.
• Coding experience in one of the following programming languages: Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Ability to complete a 13-17 week full-time internship in the UK starting in either May, June, or July 2027.
• Must be in your penultimate or final year of education.
