As a Software Engineer specializing in the TPU Compiler, you will be part of a team that develops cutting-edge technologies that transform how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your role will involve working on critical projects that are essential to Google’s operations, with opportunities for team and project transitions as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write product or system development code for the TPU compiler using C++.
  • Engage in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies.
  • Contribute to a compiler that enables the scaling of machine learning models across TPU and GPU accelerators at Google and in the Cloud.
  • Design and implement performance enhancements and critical features to improve the efficiency of key production teams.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence in the development of the compiler and its functionalities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in coding with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Research experience in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, Image Classification, or Spam Fighting.
  • Relevant work or educational background in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a PhD program.
  • Experience in parallel computing and familiarity with compilers and compiler construction.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience in programming concurrent or parallel computations, particularly with accelerators like VLIW, Vector machines, GPUs, or DSPs.
