About the Role

Chariot is seeking a talented Software Engineer to help build and maintain scalable backend systems supporting its financial infrastructure platform.

The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience, understands distributed systems, and can develop reliable, high-performance services. This role is suited to an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and contributing to production systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and systems.
  • Build and integrate REST APIs and gRPC services.
  • Develop reliable software using modern backend technologies.
  • Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Work with cloud infrastructure and tools such as AWS and Terraform.
  • Design and optimize database operations using PostgreSQL.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software.
  • Contribute to the performance, scalability, and maintainability of production systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Approximately 2–10 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems.
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working at an established or growing technology company.
  • Strong software development and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite in New York City Monday through Thursday.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience with Go or Node.js.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and database performance optimization.
  • Experience building REST APIs and gRPC services.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure.

Work Authorization

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States under an arrangement acceptable to the employer. Eligible visa transfers, including OPT and H-1B transfers, may be considered; individual eligibility and future sponsorship requirements should be confirmed with the employer.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $180,000–$230,000 annually.
  • Equity compensation.
  • Full-time employment.
