This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned and driven Senior Verification Engineer to join Arm’s CPU team in Cambridge. The role focuses on developing the next generation of CPU products, where you will construct and enhance simulation-oriented verification environments for upcoming CPU IP. You will work closely with design and verification teams, influencing both design and verification choices while helping to shape technology that powers billions of devices globally. As CPU designs grow more complex, effective verification becomes crucial for delivering high-quality products. You will apply and advance modern simulation-based verification methodologies to tackle intricate challenges, enhance verification efficiency, and expand the frontiers of CPU verification.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of verification in a designated area of the CPU, overseeing everything from unit-level testbench development to the overall verification strategy.
- Ensure functional verification aligns with agreed quality standards and project timelines.
- Develop test plans, verification strategies, and coverage objectives.
- Work closely with project leads and management on planning, scheduling, and quality checkpoints.
- Employ data-driven analysis to evaluate verification progress, coverage, and product quality.
- Contribute to improvements in verification methodology and productivity across the CPU group and the wider Arm verification community.
- Investigate, debug, and conduct root-cause analysis of issues identified during the verification process.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in building verification environments for complex RTL designs.
- Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Thorough understanding of the complete verification process, from test planning to verification closure.
- Ability to quickly comprehend complex specifications and translate them into effective verification scenarios.
- Strong grasp of computer architecture fundamentals, including pipelining, exception handling, and memory systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly to various audiences.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
- Solid knowledge of Arm architecture.
- Experience with verification methodologies such as UVM or equivalent.
- Programming experience in C/C++ and Python.
- Practical experience in verifying microprocessor or CPU designs.
- Understanding of constrained-random stimulus, functional coverage, checking methodologies, and behavioral reference models.
- Experience conducting detailed technical reviews of verification or design work.
- Interest in applying AI tools and techniques to enhance engineering productivity.
