Senior UX Designer/Developer Overview

At Ping Identity, we are dedicated to creating secure and seamless digital experiences for users worldwide. We are currently seeking a Senior UX Designer/Developer to join our remote team in the UK. This hybrid role combines user experience design with frontend prototyping, allowing you to explore and validate ideas through hands-on coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Create interactive user experience prototypes in code to explore and validate design ideas.
• Rapidly develop workflows, interactions, and usability concepts prior to implementation.
• Design user experiences for complex enterprise SaaS applications and related customer interactions.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX researchers, designers, and engineers to define project requirements and influence product direction.
• Work closely with engineering teams during development to ensure high-quality implementation of designs.
• Review implementations to advocate for design quality and ensure the final product aligns with the original design intent.
• Balance user needs, accessibility standards, technical limitations, and business objectives.
• Utilize modern design tools to explore concepts and contribute to the design system.
• Build prototypes using contemporary frontend technologies such as React, Vue, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Contribute to the development of the design system, reusable UI patterns, and coded component libraries.
• Leverage AI-native design and development tools to enhance ideation, create realistic prototype data, and explore various design options.
• Design and prototype AI-assisted experiences, including conversational interfaces and intelligent recommendations.
• Promote effective UX practices and contribute to the evolving design culture at Ping Identity.
• Provide constructive feedback on design and mentor fellow designers through collaboration and critique.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in UX design, frontend development, or a combined design/development role.
• A strong portfolio showcasing both thoughtful UX design and interactive coded prototypes.
• Expertise in modern UX design tools and component-based design systems.
• Experience in building interactive applications using frameworks like React, Vue, or similar.
• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, responsive design, and frontend best practices.
• Experience using code as a prototyping tool rather than solely for production purposes.
• Familiarity with component-based design systems and frontend component libraries.
• Solid understanding of accessibility standards and WCAG guidelines.
• Excellent interaction design skills with a keen eye for visual detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate design decisions and technical trade-offs with designers, engineers, and product managers.
• Experience with AI-native tools and workflows for design, prototyping, or frontend development.
• Curiosity about new interaction patterns for AI-driven products and experiences.
