Senior Data Architect – London, UK – Fulltime Overview

As a Senior Data Architect at Capgemini, you will be integral to shaping and delivering enterprise data architectures for our Financial Services clients. This role involves leading the design of scalable, secure, and cloud-enabled data platforms that enable organizations to leverage data as a vital business asset.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering effective solution designs for the Banks’ EDL and ODS Platforms on Cloudera in AWS.
• Designing end-to-end data lake and distributed data solutions that meet business requirements.
• Contributing to overall solution planning and providing insights into factory estimation processes.
• Reviewing design artifacts from other data solution architects.
• Defining best practices in the data space and addressing areas needing remediation.
• Producing design artifacts independently or as part of a team.
• Collaborating with business units to refine data requirements.
• Presenting designs to the Banks Architecture Review Board.
• Engaging with stakeholders in the Group Data Office.
• Supporting non-factory solution architects on change initiatives.
• Ensuring solutions align with strategic architecture principles.
• Reviewing designs from technical teams for alignment with overall solutions.
• Assisting the delivery lead in breaking down solutions for iterative delivery.
• Supporting other engineering functions within the factory.
• Monitoring change requests to ensure solution designs are fit for purpose.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Extensive experience as a solution architect in large-scale distributed data projects.
• Deep knowledge of distributed data platforms, particularly Cloudera CDH/CDP.
• Experience with large datasets, streaming data, and unstructured data sources.
• Strong ETL and data pipeline experience with modern big data tools.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or Scala.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices.
• Good understanding of data architecture principles.
• A continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience in financial services is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and lead complex data deliveries.
• Experience with API exposure and integration.
