As we expand into new markets, including a recent launch in New York City, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team.
We are currently seeking a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer to join our Marketplace team. This team is responsible for developing models and algorithms that effectively balance supply and demand, optimizing pricing and matching to ensure that chauffeurs earn well while passengers experience minimal wait times. Our engineering culture emphasizes clean, maintainable code and rapid deployment through practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and continuous integration and delivery.
Our technology stack includes Go, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, gRPC, and Thrift, all running on AWS and Kubernetes, managed via Terraform. The interview process will involve a recruiter screening, algorithm challenges, and live coding sessions. Candidates for senior positions will also participate in a system design interview and a structured review of their previous experiences and accomplishments.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, efficient code primarily using Go.
- Create new microservices and assist in the management and migration from legacy systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data scientists to translate abstract requirements into detailed technical designs.
- Ensure system responsiveness during high load periods by optimizing for latency and reliability.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and maintaining scalable backend services, with 5+ years required for senior positions.
- Proficiency in Go is preferred, but candidates may be interviewed in their strongest programming language such as Python, C++, Java, or Ruby.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
