Maven Securities is a prominent proprietary trading firm that utilizes advanced technology and quantitative analysis to operate in global financial markets, specializing in options and derivatives market making. We are currently seeking a Quantitative Trader Intern for a 6-month internship based in London.

The internship offers an intensive training program centered on options market making. Interns will work closely with traders and researchers to tackle significant research challenges and enhance their quantitative skills across our market-making desks. Successful completion of the internship may lead to consideration for a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Engage in a comprehensive 6-month training program focused on options market making.
• Collaborate with traders and researchers to address significant quantitative research challenges.
• Develop expertise in quantitative methods applicable to market-making desks.
• Solve quantitative research problems, including volatility modeling and alpha generation.
• Create visualization tools utilizing Python or AI-assisted coding.
• Complete a structured research project under the guidance of experienced traders and quants.
• Shadow the Options Market Making desks to gain practical insights.

Requirements

• Educational background in Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proficiency in programming, ideally in Python, with additional knowledge of C++ or C# being beneficial.
• Ability to independently solve problems creatively and effectively.
• Strong communication skills to present research findings clearly.
• Self-motivated with a strong interest in improving trading strategies and identifying new opportunities.
• Familiarity with financial markets is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Professional-level fluency in English.
