Salary Guide: $60,000–$70,000 + superannuation for a full-time role, depending on experience and applicable employment conditions. Part-time arrangements may also be considered.

Sando Ko is a Japanese-inspired café offering a curated selection of cakes, cream desserts, Japanese-inspired pastries, onigiri and light Japanese meals. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Pastry & Dessert Cook to help produce and maintain a high-quality range of cakes and desserts in a fast-paced café environment. Our menu is designed around a focused range of products and shared base components, allowing us to prioritise consistency, presentation and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce cakes, cream desserts and Japanese-inspired pastries.
• Follow standardised recipes and production procedures.
• Prepare creams, fillings, toppings and other components.
• Maintain consistent product quality, portion sizes and presentation.
• Assist with seasonal specials and improvements to existing products.
• Monitor stock, ingredient usage and product waste.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness and an organised production area.
• Work collaboratively with the wider café team.

About You

• Practical experience in pastry, cake making or dessert preparation.
• Good knowledge of creams, fillings, cake assembly and finishing techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Efficient preparation and time-management skills.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute ideas.
• An interest in Japanese-inspired desserts and modern café products.
