Graduate Procurement Overview

As a Graduate Procurement candidate at BAE Systems, you will engage in a dynamic role that involves working closely with Category Management and Integrated Project Teams to ensure that procurement activities deliver value for money. This position is based in Rochester, Kent, and offers a competitive salary of £34,000 per annum, along with a £2,000 welcome bonus.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with teams to coordinate supplier selection and manage contract negotiations for third-party requirements.
• Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Producing key reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Managing the supply base through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to monitor and enhance performance.
• Receiving requisitions and processing Purchase Orders in accordance with established Procurement procedures.
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction through effective negotiations with suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate supplier order books and ensuring data integrity in the ERP system.
• Processing supplier returns and understanding root causes and corrective actions.
• Engaging with suppliers at a senior level to address performance issues.

This role is part of the Electronic Systems Team, which has been delivering cutting-edge controls and display solutions for over 70 years. You will be at the forefront of exciting electronic technologies, contributing to projects that shape the future of defense and aerospace.

To qualify for this position, you must have obtained or be predicted to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Business, or Finance. The start date for this role is set for September 6, 2027, and the closing date for applications is September 24, 2026, at 09:45 UK time.
