Aussie World Pty Ltd is home to the iconic Banana Bender Pub, a popular tourist destination located just off the Bruce Highway on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time Chef to join the kitchen team at Mango’s Bar & Grill. Our restaurant offers a dynamic lunch and dinner menu, alongside functions and events hosted in our versatile event space, The Shed. We pride ourselves on serving high-quality, Western cuisine with Asian Fusion that reflects our local region and celebrates the diverse cultural backgrounds of our international kitchen team. Working closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in the daily operation of our kitchen, maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, plate and garnish dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Oversee and manage an assigned kitchen section.
• Receive, check and account for deliveries in accordance with business procedures.
• Maintain stock rotation, minimise wastage and ensure effective inventory management.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, organised and compliant with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Monitor portion sizes, food costs and quality control.
• Assist with menu development, recipe preparation and costing in consultation with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
• Coordinate food preparation and service to ensure timely delivery during busy periods.
• Support, train and mentor fellow kitchen team members.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and professional kitchen environment.

Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A relevant culinary qualification or at least five years of full-time experience in a comparable kitchen environment.
• The ability to work confidently across different kitchen sections, including grill, pans, larder, dessert and pizza.
• A strong passion for food, flavour, quality and presentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and time management.
• A reliable, punctual and professional work ethic.
• Flexibility to work a seven-day roster, including weekends, school holidays and split shifts.
