Digital Product Specialist Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Digital Product Specialist to join the Application Support team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of digital software applications throughout their life-cycle, collaborating with Application Support Specialists to deliver high-quality support and guidance to users of essential digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and articulate the business advantages of the digital product, ensuring alignment with the Health Board’s business requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive technical understanding of the product.
• Promote the benefits of the product and oversee its implementation plan.
• Provide expert technical knowledge regarding the product’s development.
• Manage and coordinate any system downtime related to the product across the Health Board.
• Ensure timely scheduling and completion of software releases.
• Assess the impact of incidents and events, reporting findings as necessary.
• Support users effectively, offering expert advice on the system.
• Engage with users to understand their requirements and workflow processes for product design, development, and implementation.
• Serve as the lead for the product within the Health Board, collaborating with other product specialists to ensure integration with other systems.
• Develop and maintain expert system administration procedures for the product.
• Create product-related policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop training materials and outline training content.
• Ensure proper configuration of the system is maintained.
• Manage all aspects of product testing, including preparation of test plans and scripts, and oversee testing activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a postgraduate diploma in a relevant Digital or Technical field or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Have experience in training and communicating effectively with various individuals and teams within a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrate experience in implementing clinical systems in a healthcare environment.
• Exhibit a flexible approach to meet the service’s needs.
• Be able to travel between different sites promptly.
• Welsh language skills at Level 1 are desirable.

Benefits

• Salary range of £40,559 to £48,841 per annum.
• Permanent contract.
• Full-time working hours.
