Data Science PhD Intern, 2027 Overview

This internship opportunity is designed for students pursuing a PhD in relevant fields such as Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Operations Research. The role is based in London, UK, and requires full-time availability for a minimum of 13 weeks during the summer of 2027, starting in May, June, or July.

As a Data Science PhD Intern, you will engage in research that supports Google’s business model and search techniques. Your responsibilities will include producing both quantitative and qualitative models to analyze user behavior and business dynamics, as well as identifying areas for further investigation and developing innovative analysis methods.

To qualify for this internship, you must be currently enrolled in a PhD program and in your penultimate year of study. You should have experience working with datasets using statistical software such as Python, R, SAS, or MATLAB, and be knowledgeable in statistical data analysis methods, including linear models and Bayesian methods.

Preferred qualifications include experience with causal inference methods and a track record of developing intellectual contributions such as peer-reviewed publications.
