An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Substantive Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. This role involves joining a dedicated team to provide Specialist Palliative Care services to the communities of Staffordshire and Cheshire.
Main Responsibilities
- Become a core member of the Hospital Palliative Care Team, providing specialist palliative advice, outpatient services, and inpatient care for ten palliative medicine beds.
- Work collaboratively with local hospices and community services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Lead undergraduate Palliative Care education at Keele University’s School of Medicine and contribute to the Palliative Care curriculum development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full registration with the GMC and possession of MRCP.
- Entry on the Specialist Register or in a UK training scheme, or within six months of CCT at the time of interview.
- Good general clinical experience in palliative medicine and the ability to coordinate care among multiple clinical teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take full responsibility for patient care.
- Evidence of training in research methodology and the ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
