We are urgently seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 – Theatre General Surgery for a hospital in Cork Ireland.
Full time, Permanent
Responsibilities
Provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff within the General Surgery Theatre.
Coordinate and manage the day-to-day running of the theatre, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Act as a role model for best clinical practice and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, HIQA standards, infection prevention and control guidelines, and NMBI standards.
Allocate staff and resources effectively to meet service demands.
Support, supervise, and appraise staff, addressing performance, training, and development needs.
Collaborate with consultants, anaesthetists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to clinical activity and staff management.
Requirements
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Demonstrate strong professional values and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Minimum of three years’ postgraduate acute care nursing experience, including essential experience in a theatre setting.
Strong knowledge of general surgery.
Excellent knowledge of current nursing practices and clinical skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Preceptorship qualification and experience are desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
