Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain manufacturing test content for complex, high-power, high-speed printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assemblies.
- Implement and troubleshoot test coverage across various stages including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), boundary scan/JTAG, and functional testing.
- Design and support board-level functional test solutions, which encompass fixtures, probes, cabling, and instrumentation.
- Develop and maintain firmware for microcontroller-based board tests aimed at manufacturing diagnostics, self-testing, and telemetry validation.
- Create tests to identify assembly defects, component failures, solder issues, and other manufacturing anomalies.
- Develop board-level tests focused on PCIe to ensure chip-to-chip connectivity and integrity.
- Assist in the setup and debugging of board test stations at offshore Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Contract Manufacturers (CM).
- Analyze test failures and yield data to determine root causes and suggest corrective measures.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and signal integrity/power integrity teams to address board-level testability issues.
- Contribute to the creation of test documentation, including specifications, debugging procedures, and manufacturing release notes.
- Support the qualification of fixtures, correlation of testers, and ongoing maintenance of tests.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years of experience in board or PCBA test engineering within a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Practical experience in developing functional tests, ICT, and boundary scan/JTAG.
- Experience in designing or supporting test fixtures and automated testing stations.
- Knowledge of high-speed digital interfaces and common board-level failure modes.
- Experience in developing or supporting embedded test firmware on microcontrollers.
- Strong debugging skills related to digital logic, power delivery, and interconnect issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with offshore manufacturing partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing boards with AI accelerators, GPUs, networking ASICs, or similar high-power devices.
- Familiarity with high-current VRMs, multiphase power converters, and power integrity testing.
- Exposure to PCIe Gen5/Gen6 or other high-speed serial links in a production test environment.
- Experience using factory data systems and yield analysis to improve test coverage and throughput.
- Experience supporting board test during new product introduction (NPI), ramp, and sustained production.
