This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician and educator to join the Therapy Practice Placement Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional practice placement experiences for therapy students, thereby supporting the future Allied Health Professional (AHP) workforce.
As a Therapy Practice Placement Manager, you will work collaboratively with a fellow manager to provide leadership, supervision, and support to learners and educators across various therapy professions. While applications are encouraged from all therapy backgrounds, experience in supporting physiotherapy placements is particularly advantageous.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing compassionate and inclusive leadership to enhance practice-based learning experiences for therapy students.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and well-being for educators and learners.
- Monitoring and auditing placement quality to ensure compliance with professional standards.
- Supporting and advising practice educators while addressing any concerns related to placements.
- Contributing to placement capacity through service improvements and innovative placement models.
- Delivering teaching and training programs and supporting student assessment processes.
- Representing the Trust at various forums and contributing to curriculum development.
- Participating in line management, service development, research, and quality improvement projects.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- BSc or preregistration MSc in a relevant therapy field or equivalent.
- Current HCPC registration.
- PGCert in Clinical Education or willingness to pursue it.
- Experience as a registered practitioner at a senior level.
- Knowledge of HCPC standards and experience in mentoring students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and understanding of healthcare education delivery.
- Effective communication and project management skills.
The position offers a competitive salary between £49,387 and £56,515 per year, along with a permanent contract and flexible working arrangements. The Trust is committed to creating an inclusive culture where all employees feel valued and supported.
