We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at Brighter Foods, part of THG Manufacturing, located in Tywyn, Wales. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In this role, you will be instrumental in the operation of our new automated factory, focusing on the design, programming, and testing of automated machinery to ensure optimal performance and precision.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining and optimizing automated machinery to maximize uptime and efficiency, troubleshooting and repairing automation and electrical systems, and designing custom automation solutions to improve production performance. You will also be expected to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, program and integrate new equipment into existing control systems, and collaborate with OEMs and suppliers to enhance current automation processes. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and training to the engineering team, ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards, and perform diagnostics on PLC and electrical systems to resolve issues.

To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience working with automated machinery in an FMCG or manufacturing environment, a degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and proficiency in PLC programming (such as Allen Bradley or Siemens) along with experience in SQL, Python, or Java. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, along with a proactive approach to optimization and reliability, are essential. Experience managing automation or engineering projects is advantageous, as is a collaborative mindset focused on developing others and driving excellence.
