The 2027 Risk Management Group Summer Internship Programme at Macquarie offers an exciting opportunity for students to engage in the financial services sector. As an intern, you will collaborate with colleagues to analyze complex information and support informed decision-making within the Risk Management Group. This nine-week program will commence with a tailored induction week designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge for success.
During your internship, you will have the chance to work in various areas, including:
- Credit Risk: Analyze counterparties, financial statements, transaction structures, and industry trends to support credit assessments and approvals.
- Market Risk: Collaborate with traders and business stakeholders to monitor exposures, review positions, and apply quantitative risk measures.
- Model Risk: Build mathematical models, assess methodologies, and conduct independent research to ensure the integrity of financial models.
As part of your role, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing risk exposures, supporting credit assessments, and enhancing risk frameworks and reporting tools. You will gain valuable experience and insight into your chosen business area while working alongside business leaders on live projects.
To qualify for this internship, you must be in your penultimate year of study, pursuing a degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline, and graduating between January and July 2028. Strong analytical skills, curiosity about financial markets, and effective communication abilities are essential. A proactive approach and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment will also be beneficial.
