What is Document Inspector? Why is it used, and how can we run it?
Click the File tab to access Backstage view. From the Info pane, click Check for Issues, then select Inspect Document from the drop-down menu. You may be prompted to save your file before running Document Inspector.
Document Inspector helps you find and remove hidden data and personal information in Excel workbooks. Important: We highly recommend that you use the Document Inspector on a copy of your original workbook, because it is not always possible to restore the data that the Document Inspector removes.
Document Inspector is a feature in MS Word that identifies and removes hidden or sensitive information from a document. It helps maintain data privacy and integrity by detecting and eliminating tracked changes, personal information, custom XML data, and more. To use it, open the document, go to “File” > “Check for Issues” > “Inspect Document.” Select the content to inspect, review the results, and remove unwanted information.
