Wrap text is chosen after selecting Format, which is found under Arrange. The wrapping method you intend to use should be chosen. A helpful hint is to pick the image or object, choose Format > location, and then choose the desired location on the page relative to the text.
Select Format and then under Arrange, select Wrap Text. Choose the wrapping option that you want to apply. Tip: To change a picture or drawing object’s position on the page relative to the text, select the picture or object, select Format > Position, and then select the position that you want.
To change text wrapping settings in a document:
- Select the object (such as an image or shape) around which you want to change the text wrapping.
- Right-click on the object, and a context menu will appear.
- In the context menu, hover over or click on the “Wrap Text” or “Text Wrapping” option.
- A submenu will open with various text wrapping options, such as “In Line with Text,” “Square,” “Tight,” “Behind Text,” or “In Front of Text.”
- Choose the desired text wrapping option by clicking on it.
- The text will now wrap around the object based on the selected setting.
By changing the text wrapping settings, you can control how text flows around an object in a document, allowing for better document layout and design.
Text can be configured to wrap around a photo or drawing object.
Choose the image or item.
Select Arrange > Wrap Text from the Picture Format or Shape Format menu. Word shows Wrap Text immediately on the Picture Format tab if the window is large enough.
Select the wrapping choices you want to use.

· Select the image you want to wrap text around. The Format tab will appear on the right side of the Ribbon.
· On the Format tab, click the Wrap Text command in the Arrange group. A drop-down menu will appear.
· However the mouse over the various text-wrapping options. A live preview of the text wrapping will appear in the document. When you’ve found the text-wrapping option you want to use, click it. Alternatively, you can select More Layout Options… to fine-tune the layout.
· The text will wrap around the image. You can now move the image if you want. Just click, hold, and drag it to the desired location. As you move it, alignment guides will appear to help you align the image on the page.
