I need to add a footnote or endnote to my Word document to provide additional information or references. How can I do this?

Click the References tab – From the Footnotes group, choose either the Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote.

- Click where you want to reference to the footnote or endnote.
- On the References tab, select Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote.
- Enter what you want in the footnote or endnote. Return to your place in the document by double-clicking the number or symbol at the beginning of the note.

To Insert footnotes and endnotes in Word first Select the location where you want to refer to the footnote or endnote. Select Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote from the References tab. Fill in the blanks with whatever you like in the footnote or endnote. Return to your previous position in the document by double-clicking the number or symbol at the start of the note.
