Attribute types in databases specify the kind of data that can be stored in a column. Examples include integers for whole numbers, decimals for numbers with decimal points, character strings for alphanumeric data, date/time for temporal information, boolean for true/false values, BLOB for binary data, and ENUM for predefined value sets.
