In this lesson, you will learn about Goals in Grammarly and how to use them in your content.
Goals are a unique feature in Grammarly. It offers customised writing suggestions based on your audience and writing style.
The set goals feature is currently available in all Grammarly products except for the Grammarly iOS and Android mobile keyboards.
You can tailor your goals based on the following parameters
Note: As a user-friendly feature, you can adjust your goals for every document.
Let’s see each parameter in detail.
The audience is your targeted readers for your article. You can choose your audience base by characterising them into General or Knowledgeable or Expert categories. Selecting the appropriate option will help Grammarly provide tailored feedback about readability and clarity, as each category of audience require a slightly different usage of words.
Just by the term, the article can be Informal or Neutral or completely formal. It depends on the objective or reason behind your writing.
Choosing the right formality will provide you with the right slang or colloquialisms. Choosing them is like choosing your formality, so choose wisely and nicely.
This is an amazing part of Goals settings in Grammarly, it allows Grammarly to provide feedback based on the document type. Grammarly currently offers six domains:
Academic, Business, General, Email, Casual, creative.
Depending on your needs, you can choose the domain.
Note: At this time, the option to select the domain is available to Premium, Business, and Grammarly @edu users only.
This is an experimental feature of Grammarly. The Tone and Intent settings currently don’t affect the list of provided suggestions of words or phrases, but it helps Grammarly understand the type of feedback you’d like to see in the future.
Now, let’s see how to set the Goals in Grammarly.
